BLOOD ORANGE MARGARITAS

It’s no secret, margaritas are my favorite cocktail of all time!

I love fruit margaritas, citrus margaritas and spicy margaritas -I mean, who doesn’t love a good marg?! It is also citrus season so I used blood oranges and let me tell you, they are UH-MAZING!!

BLOOD ORANGE MARGARITA

Ingredients

For the Margarita

• 2 blood oranges, juiced
• 1 lime, juiced (1 tsp for rim of glasses)
• 6 oz Casamigos Blanco Tequila
• 2 oz Cointreau
• 2 oz simple syrup
• Margarita Saltfor the rim

For Simple Syrup

• 1/3 granulated sugar
• 2/3 water 

Instructions

1. First prepare homemade simple syrup.  Pour sugar and water in a small sauce pan bring to a simmer until the sugar is dissolved.  Set aside and allow to cool completely.  
2. Juice 2 blood oranges and a lime in a cup.  Dip the rim of the glasses in the lime juice and then in the salt.
3. In a shaker with ice, pour tequila, juice mixture, simple syrup, cointreau and shake for 20 seconds then pour in the glasses. Enjoy!
