CIABATTA BAGUETTE PIZZA

Have you ever made something on an empty stomach?!

I need to try this trick more often because this Ciabatta Baguette Pizza concoction was out of this world. I just used a few simple ingredients that were in my pantry and fridge and it was incredibly delicious. I didn’t even need to think about it or test it a few times to get it just right. Enjoy with a light beer.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever made on an empty stomach?!

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a cast iron over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms over for 4-5 mins. Set aside. In a small sauce pot over medium heat bring the Jersey Italian Gravy sauce to simmer. Transfer in a bowl and set aside.

Cut the ciabatta baguette in half and place in a toaster for 3 minutes until lightly toasted. Top the toasted baguette with the red sauce, sautéed mushrooms, mozzarella, grated parmesan and cherry tomatoes and broil in the toasted oven on high for about 8-10 minutes (keep a close eye on it).

Carefully remove from the toaster oven and drizzle with homemade pesto sauce, sprinkle with red chili flakes and fresh basil leaves for garnish. With a pizza cutter, cut into a few pieces and enjoy!
